Overview

Bridges is a mentorship program to help youth discover, achieve, and make a lasting impact. We believe each individual is created with unique talents, gifts, and skills so that together, our communities may flourish as we use our abilities to benefit others. Our goal is to connect gifts and talents with personal purpose so that students not only live a more successful life, but a significant and meaningful one.

The mission of Bridges is to empower youth in our communities to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential.

Bridges envisions a community in which youth experience nurturing one-to-one relationships and community support, which in turn allows each of them to develop into their full potential, capable of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of our community. Through these mentoring relationships, students are provided with guidance and direction in areas such as goal-setting, career development, and networking that will assist program participants as they transition to life after graduation.

We provide a comprehensive program where equity, access, and equipping students with excellence for their mental, physical, relational, as well as academic growth is the focus. Students are empowered to develop their talent, cultivate meaningful relationships, engage in effective problem-solving, and make significant contributions to their community. Upon completion of the program, students are equipped to lead a life of significance and prepared to achieve their educational and career goals.

Goals

1. Develop participant gifts and talents so they can grow in excellence from a holistic standpoint.

2. Remove barriers that prohibit youth from pursuing their passion by identifying solutions and resources to overcoming them.

3. Grant youth the opportunity to attend elite level secondary institutions/programs and assist them in receiving scholarships for post-secondary education in their respective field

Who Are We?

Our organization is committed to partnering with families and communities to help talented youth achieve their full potential and provide opportunities that they otherwise would not have. We are a network of mentors and partner members who are experts in our respective fields that are committed to giving back to the community. Through key learning experiences and dedicated time in building relationships, we nurture young leaders that become value-driven role models. Our overall focus is the development of the whole student to become self-directed, motivated, responsible decision-makers who excel in their respective passions. We bridge the gap to succeed and prepare students for independence in college by teaching them important life skills which allow them to flourish in their collegiate lives.

Who Do We Serve?

We seek to serve talented high school students in grades 9-12th. Both international and domestic students are eligible to apply. Bridges is designed for academically accomplished, intellectually curious students who are interested in building a community of servanthood and excellence using their gifts and talents in academics, athletics, fine arts or technology.
